Qigong (pronounced Chi-Gong) has changed my life in more ways than I can put into words. It is the practice of aligning breath, movement and awareness for exercise, healing and meditation.

The ancient Chinese art form of moving Qi (Qi is the Chinese word for energy) around ones own body to maintain health and clear out old stagnant energy from the body's energetic channels (Meridians).

This is the integral part of my morning practice and sets me up for the day by grounding me to the earth and connecting to my soul. By practicing everyday I continually gain more and more awareness of my body on the physical and energetic level, continue to gain more clarity and awareness of my surroundings and my intuition continues to deepen and strengthen on a daily basis.

When the body, mind and breath become one, the spirit and the body become unified.

So how does it work? Well basically you stand in particular postures, move your body in particular ways and breathe. Some postures you don't even have to move your body and yet there is still moving energy around the body. By standing and moving in these particular ways it activates the energy channels (meridians) to start moving energy around which can at times become stagnant and keeps it flowing long after the practice has finished. What I love about Qigong is the simplicity and how gentle it is to practice. Qigong is for everyone young and old.

Qigong is linked to Martial Arts and Chinese medicine. I love Chinese medicine because it looks at the body holistically and acknowledges that most diseases of the mind or physical body start in the energetic system and eventually manifest physically. The aim of Chinese medicine is to treat the original cause of disease not just the symptom. I have been fortunate to have good physical health over the years but by practicing Qigong it continues to increase beyond what I thought was possible.

Life itself is your teacher, and you are in a constant state of learning.
— Bruce Lee

I have so much respect for the masters and sages from thousands of years ago who had vast knowledge and completely understood the energetics of the human body. From that they created many different styles of Qigong and many different postures all with the purpose of keeping energy flowing in the body to prevent illnesses and disease.

My students say....

"I was a bit skeptical of Qi Gong at first but I had some friends who were into it so I decided to give it shot. In the beginning of Steven’s class, I actually experienced a lot of energy moving. It was strange at first and totally unexpected. With his guidance, I came into a place of stillness and could sit in an authentic and deep experience of myself. I’m blown away by Steven’s guidance and am truly inspired by his story and his ability to hold space - what an all round legend! I’m looking forward to the next class and seeing how far the rabbit hole goes…"

"This was my first experience with Qigong and I was really blown away. Steven is an amazing Qigong teacher. He knows how to hold the right balance between explaining the moves and their effects and meanings and just letting you feel the power of universal energy, which is flowing through all of us. If you want to feel it and are looking for an experience to connect with yourself and the huge energy which is beneath and around us, then go for this guy."
